Happy Easter! Here's a log to celebrate.

This weekend consisted of spending some quality time in the University of Maine greenhouses while Josh (and the rest of the UMO Horticulture Club) prepared for the Bangor Garden Show. That means that I got to explore some cool plants while everyone else was working hard.

To the right are the giant leaves of a banana tree. Unfortunately, even in a greenhouse, these banana trees can only produce fruit about once a decade..and this year was not the lucky one. It's still a spectacular plant though!

This is an agave cactus! Yes, the famous origin to the over-used and infamous agave syrup (which is not as healthy as many believe). I wish I had a good shot of the entire plant...it's huuuge and extremely crazy looking. Go look one up.

Lastly, another cactus. They have a lot of different cacti, but I liked this one the best.

These last couple of posts have all come from my visit last weekend to the Arnold Arboretum, the most amazing place on the Orange line (the sketchy one). I went there to shoot stuff for my photography final project, but I brought my digital along as well. Since it's finals' week and I'm busy studying..... making Christmas presents, I haven't had time to upload all of them. So here's the last of those from the Arboretum! I'll be back home Saturday night, so I'll scan in some of my photos from my class this semester to post. Keep waiting!

Ugh, posting hiatus. I'm back now! I'm not sure for how long though. This semester I'm taking a film photography class at school and it has been devouring all my "photo time" leaving me with no opportunity to shoot digital... hence the reason why I have NO PICTURES to post lately! Maybe if I get motivation, I'll scan some of my prints and post them (but probably not). In the meantime, I went back home this weekend for Columbus! It was a great time with family and friends.. friends? I guess mainly just family. And the trees were sooo pretty. Can't wait for the leaves to start changing down here.

 These are my mom's favorite trees in Boston right now. She tried to get pictures this weekend while she was down visiting, but it didn't work out for her. So I decided to post these so she can see. The old man in the first one seemed pretty cool too. It took him probably an entire minute or two to walk past these two trees. Slow but determined.

Visiting my duck friends in the Public Garden today was so much fun. We always have wonderful conversations about the homeless and squirrels. I'll be back to see them again soon.





The ducks in the Garden always remind me of this book that I used to have read to me when I was little. There's actually a memorial in the Garden dedicated to this book!

Extreme amounts of rain + freezing temperatures = a frozen forest. Linneus, ME during Spring Break. It looked like frosty glass was covering everything.
